This was the world as best as I can remember it from the backseat of my dad’s car. No A/C, no FM. Just a low growl and heat all year round.

While so much has changed, I am thankful to my dad and brother for keeping the green monster alive. I’m sitting in the backseat while my brother is working on it my car on the other side of his garage.
This is the first time I’ve sat in it just to think. I feel 10 all over again, but the more mature kind… I think.
What a treasure! All my childhood memories like that have been taken to the junkyard or burned (since we did not have trash collection on the farm growing up – “landfill was dumping trash into gullies to stop erosion.”
